Happy Monday!!!!

Finally a little snow! With the cold weather I hope we get more snow.  Being this cold without snow isn't really worth it in my opinion.

This week in reading we are reading a story called A Symphony of Whales.  The story is about beluga whales that get trapped in the ice.  A little girl leads the rescue efforts and get a Russian ice breaker to come free the whales.  The story is really pretty interesting and unique.  Make sure to ask your kids about it!

In math today we attempted to calculate our ages in minutes.  A lengthy process that was challenging but I think we were getting the hang of it by the end of the day.  There is math homework today.  The homework gives 4 digits and asks students to arrange them into as many numbers as possible.  Try to get a lot of numbers!

Make sure your are sending appropriate clothing with your students as the weather begins to be colder.  We will be outside unless the temperature is below 0.  Wind chill will be factored in.  The temperature in the room is always a guessing game too.  Some days it is very warm and other days it seems to be cooler.  It is always a good idea to dress in layers.
