Meet Mr. Brim

My name is Andy Brim.  This is my fifth year teaching.  I taught 3rd grade at Sunset for four years and this will be my first year teaching 4th grade.  I love being a teacher and coming to school each day.  Each day is full of new surprises.

I was born and raised in Webster City and feel very lucky to be able to be a teacher in the same district that I attended school.  I even get to teach with some of my old teachers.  After graduating high school I went to college at Iowa State University.  I graduated from Iowa State in 2008 and started teaching at Sunset in August of 2009.  In October of 2012 I graduated from Grand Canyon University with a masters' degree in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction.  

I am 27 years old and married, my wife's name is Brittany and she is a cosmetologist in Jewell.  We are expecting our first child in February.  I am very excited to become a father and look forward to it.  We also have one dog named JoJo.  She is part lab, part Australian shepherd.  During my free time I like to hang out with friends and family.  I have a large family and so does Brittany so we stay busy hanging out with everyone.  The holidays get very busy trying to get around to all of the family gatherings.  During the summer I enjoy spending my weekends at Clear Lake.  I love sports,  football is my favorite sport.  My favorite football teams are the Hawkeyes and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  I like watching football and playing fantasy football.  I also coach football at the high school.  Basketball is my second favorite sport and I coach 8th grade basketball at the middle school.  I like playing basketball with my friends during the winter months.  I also like hunting, I have only been hunting for a couple years.  I love the time I get to spend outdoors.
